The Lifta Nature Survey

The site has a variety of habitats: Terraces with orchard trees, ruins with elaborate vegetation on the walls, cliffs, slopes with dense shrubland of Prickly Burnet (Sarcopoterium spinosum) combined with geophytes and annual plants. In the center of the site there is an active spring and next to it are orchard trees and a thicket of river vegetation, such as Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) and Great Willow-herb (Epilobium hirsutum).
